Why does my TS-CM10G prompt for formatting when connected to an Android phone?

Category : Specification / Capacity / Performance

Android natively supports file systems such as FAT32, Ext3, or Ext4, and most modern smartphones and tablets also support exFAT.

When using the TS-CM10G with an Android phone, a prompt to format the USB device may appear if the SSD file system does not meet the read/write requirements of the phone's system. (Supported systems may vary among different phone brands.)

During formatting, if the phone only supports FAT32, it's essential to note that FAT32 itself does not support capacities up to 4TB. Therefore, using a 4TB SSD might result in formatting failure or abnormal capacity after formatting. Additionally, insufficient power supply from the phone can lead to recognition issues or formatting failures, causing instability in usage.
